Your First Visit

When you first enter our warm, inviting office, our staff will greet you and make you feel at home. They’ll give you some paperwork to complete and verify your insurance coverage, explaining your benefits to you, so there’ll be no surprises later on.

Next, our staff will take you to an exam room and get your vitals and health history. Then you’ll meet with Dr. Deaton, who will discuss your health and current issues with you at length. He wants to ensure that he fully understands where you’re coming from before we get started with care. If X-rays are needed, we’ll take those next. Then, while our doctor is reviewing your films, you may receive electrical muscle stimulation (e-stim) to help your muscles relax prior to your adjustment.

You’ll receive your first adjustment at this visit, and Dr. Deaton will explain to you what he found and how he believes we can help. He’ll outline his recommendations for your care going forward.

Since everything we do is tailored to your specific situation, the length of this first visit can vary, but we suggest planning an hour and a half to two hours.

Regular Visits

Your first few visits will likely be scheduled fairly close together, to help you get out of the acute phase of your condition. Regular visits typically last approximately 30 minutes.

Dr. Deaton has decades of experience and is an expert in many different adjusting techniques, so your care plan may consist of various techniques. Many are extremely gentle, low-force methods that can be ideal for patients with frail bones, infants and children, or anyone who doesn’t tolerate higher-force adjustments.
